Suicide Girls and Gerling
April 9th, 2006 by Dylan HallHi, well it’s been a week or two since I’ve last posted, so I thought I’d do a quick catch up post.
It’s not that I’ve not had anything on my mind, but it’s all either too in-depth (I have actually written a good few thousand words on a few subjects, just nothing I’d like to post where people I know could read it) or far too personal for a blog.
Not that I haven’t been having a bit of fun lately though, this weekend (after having a fairly brisk walk with friends on friday night that I can barely remember for a good many reasons - but I’m pretty sure I enjoyed a great deal) I went and saw Suicide Girls (click that link. Just do it..) live at the Arena, here in the valley.
It was fantastic, and I’m not saying that just because it was naked women. It was fantastic music, suprisingly few emos, lots of incredibly dressed goths, great support act and well, boobs. Really good ones.
It’s amazing not just how much the guys enjoyed it, but how much the girls enjoyed it. And once someone is on stage taking there clothes off, it’s great how the tensions and inhibitions of people melt away under the white hot heat of some really, really beautiful women. Relaxed and friendly crowd, in other words. I also went and bought the DVD today, and it was good - a bit of a travel documentery, but like no other.
I also caught the bottle of whipped cream they were using, which is a pretty unique piece of memorabilia if you ask me
Last weekend I also went and saw Gerling - I’ve seen them once before and they’re one of the most high-energy fun live acts in the world.
I picked up their first album today for a low low $10 and I’m enjoying that right now - I’ll have to pick up Bad Blood and their latest as soon as possible - and I might see them again in May because they’re playing the Zoo soon.
Anyway, been having fun, post soon.
